Students will also continue to practice reading skills by working with literary and non-literary texts and writing skills in the form of creative writing and discussion boards. Spanish 200 level is a comprehensive series of courses designed to continue the development communicative proficiency in four areas (speaking, listening, writing, and reading) and to better understand how the Spanish language skills learned allow students to relate to the Spanish-speaking world.
Where is Spanish spoken? How are we connected to these cultures and communities? How can we apply the skills learned in the classroom to eventual real-world experiences? To help you immerse yourself, you will be provided with short movies, authentic texts, videos, and audio clips in Spanish.
You will interpret and discuss these materials interactively to promote your understanding of spoken and written Spanish, expand your vocabulary, increase your familiarity with grammatical structures and expose yourself to the practices, products, and perspectives of Spanish cultures. This course is a continuation of your Spanish language study at the intermediate level. 200-level Spanish courses are designed for students with previous formal language study with an overall proficiency level of Novice High.
