Italian 104 is the first in the series of Online First Year Intensive Italian summer courses (followed by Italian 105). It is designed for students who have no previous Italian instruction and who wish to have an online immersion language learning experience. This 5-week online course (June 26 through July 29, 2023) will be offered completely online consisting of asynchronous (not at the same time) and some synchronous (at the same time) activities. Since our goal is to create an intensive immersion language learning experience, you will be expected to engage in various language activities at least 3-4 hours daily. All of the course activities will be completed online using the course website on Canvas or other internet-based resources. You will complete the regular asynchronous tasks when it’s convenient for you within a fixed period of time. There will also be activities you will do with your partners using Zoom. For these, you will follow the schedule set by the instructor and set aside time to work with your peer(s) according to your available times.
